It's a real long shot and incredibly risky but you get a proven goal scoring winger and a leader which is lost with the Sedin's retiring. Also you improve the blue line which is what the Canucks need to do big time! Still have Jonathon Dahlen, Goldobin the 3rd overall pick this year (Filip Zadina) and you hold on to #7 (Noah Dobson).

Hard no from the canucks to Montreal. Probably a no from Toronto.

John Tavares will want $14 million per and Carlson will want $9 million per, Because it's Vancouver. And why would either go to a rebuilding team any ways?

At the trade deadline the Toronto Canucks deal was almost agreed to. Take a year off of Tanev's contract makes things a little better for Toronto.

Also like I said in my other post the Montreal Vancouver trade is extremely risky and a long shot but you would get a top 3 talent in the draft and some veteran help and 2 pieces that help you win. All of a sudden you are in a position to win. I understand that trading away a highly touted guy like Petterson seems dumb but I think Benning is wanting to win now and feels like the city (like most Canadian cities) wants a winner now. He has the pieces with Bo, Brock, Jake, Jonathon, and Nikolay to build something with. Then adding a 3rd overall pick and a 7th overall pick and you still keep your future somewhat intact.

You should make it clear that the 1st round coming from MTL is for 2018 not 2019. As much as I would love to see Pettersson as a canuck that trade would be interesting along with the signings.
