makeyourmove... matthews gets money NEXT YEAR,,,, Thats why its only 16 million for one season...


hockeyyog... the max contract is 20% of the cap... next year that will be.....16 MILLION.

1 year at 16 million. December 1st 2018: sign 8 years at 9.75 million. Total of 94 million over 9 year span. Nothing stopping any team from structuring such a deal. Leafs have the cap space this year to pull off something like this.
