Sabres 16-17

Created by: USA96
Team: 2016-17 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 28, 2016

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team is looking better every game, Buffalo FINALLY have a REAL coach and its starting to show. Players are getting more confident and learning what there role is on the team while a large group of rookies are paving the way forward. Look for buffalo to make a BIG splash in Free Agency. And look for Tim Murray to once again as is his forte to trade away young 20s players for even younger players. personally I have questioned a few of his trades like the Robin Lehner deal. But after watching him in net this year it looks as if we got a steal. According to analytics the Sabres are the most improved team this year. It may not have resulted in wins but its starting to show on the ice

Works well for both teams, Arizona gets 2 young prospects & 2 draft picks, Moulson didn't have the numbers BUT he was a great leader for Eichel & Reinhart. Ari needs to hit the CAP FLOOR anyways so veteran that can help the young kids makes sense.

Trouba will be grossly overpaid. Can't see him signing that low. Scary team!

I kind of agree with you on his salary. But right now I don't think he has any leverage, And both him & the club have ben at odds. A chance to move to a young team with lots of ice team might change that. The length might only be 3years instead of the 5 BUT I think the money is right on for his current value. OR he could go the long term route, see my example below.
If he wants 3 years at 4 million
and he produces so his next contact will be 4 years at say 6.8 million
That's a total of 7 years for 39.2 million, SO if you have faith and offer him 8 years at 45 million The yearly average pay is down and helps with cap space BUT he actually makes 6 million MORE over that time frame. But most of all LMAO.. If you cant agree with him on salary the Sabres have a SLEW of big young defensemen coming up and we can always get Mike Weber back. I really like Weber. Always in top 10 for blocked shots & Hits, WHAT more can you ask for from a minimum wage defensemen !! lol.
