I don't mind this thought, the two first rounders would be a huge sell for Flames fans I think. The problem with that trade though is that worst case scenario none of our D prospects pan out and Gio ages out quickly, then we are swimming for a #1 D man again. I think that if you make that trade that #10 pick from the Oilers is used to pick a D man which kind of sets Calgary back into the cycle of waiting for prospects to emerge. The value is close I think, I just don't know if it makes sense. My personal opinion is that I want to keep Dougie for a very long time and unless a team is aggressively over paying for him and it makes the Flames immediately better up front, I would rather keep him a Flame. Good idea though!

Yeah, my impression was kind of that you guys have a great D-corps right now, but need a) at least one 1st rd. pick, and b) improved goalie depth, and wouldn't mind a project like Leivo if he turned into a middle 6 scoring winger. Good to hear the feedback though.
