Description

For 2019-20 Season:
1) Sign Karlsson for $8M x 5yrs
2) Sign Talbot for $5M x 4yrs
3) Trade either Sekera or Russell after July 1 (when their MNTC kicks in) for picks (preferably Sekera).
4) Trade Koskinen for picks (backup at $2.5M is too expensive), bring back Montoya for $1M x 1yr or maybe Skinner is ready.
5) Sign Puljujärvi to bridge deal $1.5M x 2yrs
6) Sign Khaira to $1M x 2yrs
7) Sign Rattie to $1M x 2yrs
8) Add 2 contracts <$1M each (sign Aberg or Malone) or add a prospect on.

I calculate that the difference is just about equal to the 2018-19 cap at $79.5M.

Possibly, but he also wants to win so you do the deal near the end of the year after he hopefully sees the team having success. Maybe get him on a bit more of a friendly deal after playing with McDavid. He is not going to get $10M on a team that is close to winning the cup.
