Why would the Penguins want to take back a loser?

I could see Carl Hagelin being moved with another member or an asset (prospect or draft pick) for a defenseman.

Derrick Pouliot is NOT a loser. He's a capable, serviceable top pairing D-man prospect in his young NHL career. Don't believe me just ask Jim Benning (GMJB) who just resigned him to the Vancouver Canucks. O-K?

Look I say this definitely not as GMJR (people say I am but I am NOT), Derrick Pouliot was traded due to the anticipated high salary demands that a developing player of his caliber is deserving of.
He is a great guy and his team mates LOVE him for what he does in the defensive zone to help his team WIN.
