I won't give you a bad rating, I won't even be mean to you or point out every "wishfull thinking" things that you made...just explain me one thing, please :

One argument that you'd made to both Karlsson and Seguin for them to sign in MTL

Seguin won't hit the open market, DAL doesn't have any replacement for him. They'll sign him for the same contract Jamie Benn received, which is 8x9.5M$.

Karlsson will surely not hit the open market either, but in the bleak reality where it happens, how many teams in the league you think will want him? So you're basically thinking tha out of the 20-25 teams that'll approach him, he'll choose the Habs out of everyone else!?! I love the Habs, I'm a fan since I was old enough to understand what hockey is, but even I am more realistic than that. A team that is in rebuild mode do not go out and sign big FA names and big FA names does not sign with teams that are rebuilding.

We'll be bad this season and probably the next one too, but after that, with all the picks that we've made (assuming M.B. is intelligent enough to sell everything he can before each deadline to gather more draft picks), we'll start to put out a more competitve team for a good 8 to 10 years. Every great teams now as been very awful not so long ago. It's a natural process in the NHL.
