So many things wrong with this projection in my opinion. Staal at a $5.7 mil cap hit as a 7th defencemen? Let Gilmour develop his game more with another year in the AHL. After a pretty decent season by Staal I would think he deserves a roster spot over the train wreck in Brendan Smith.

The Rangers also see Chytil as a center. Why put a strangle hold on his development by putting him at an unfamiliar position, and one that he will not be playing in the future? Replace him and Spooner in your projection and that is probably more realistic.

Also, Beleskey doesn't figure to be in the future plans. I'd bury him in the AHL until his contract is up, and replace him with a young promising player. I'd like to see either Vinni Letteri or Howden get a chance next year.
