I'd offer him a 5@5, but I think that gets beaten. I think someone would offer him a JVR like contract.

my first though when the flyers signed JVR was now they have to give simmonds the same money. that was really the only downside to that contract. i would honestly give him 3x7 because he can still get another good 2 year deal after it expires. he might go for that.

His value is SKY HIGH! His contract is fantastic and they can easily get a first, a good prospect and a decent roster player in return!!

idk about SKY HIGH hes coming off his worst season in the last few years. He is in a contract year on a friendly contract so there can definatly get a good return. i would trade him but they need to get a good 3rd line RW back to make sure the 3rd line can produce.

Simmonds isn't THAT good. Even if he equals his career high in pts (which he won't) with 60pts that would put him 23rd over all RW's and and 16th over all LW. He's a 1st line guy on say.. Ottawa but most teams he's a 2nd liner at best. I think somewhere in between the 3 to 4.5 mil range is plenty for a player like him.

he makes 4 now and is considered one of the most under payed and under rated players in the league. he basically a 30 goal scorer every year. how are you not gunna give him at least 5 mil. look what some players get these days.

true.. well I mean he's in and around 30 goals at least thats true but same thing as Pacioretty and everyone seems to think he's not worth much either.
