While this may well end up being the type of return Ottawa negotiates, you would have to throw in Bobby Ryan's contract for this to make sense from a hockey perspective. This is a bunch of maybe somethings and a first rounder. The Sens have like 15 maybe somethings. McDonagh went for Namestnikov, 2 prospects a 1st and a second (along with JT Miller). Duchene got Colorado a top prospect, a st, a third from Ottawa and two propsects and a second from Nashville.
Ottawa probably looking to make their rebuild on this trade - needs to be something more in the range of two first, two prospects and another sweetener to get one of if not thee best D in the world.

Morin and Rubtsov were both first rounders. Labarge and Hagg were both second round picks. You are getting two NHL ready D, two decent prospects and a third line NHL player plus a first. They are getting players to go along with the young talent they have coming in the next couple years.
