Description

Please let me know your thoughts on the leafs trade. This is a win now move imo for the leafs getting Petry to play RD beside Reilly with Hainsey gone after this season. He’s shown he’s capable of producing and still defending well against the teams top lines. The only stat I know of is that he does give the puck away a lot. Hudon is another middle 6 forward on a cheap contract who can probably put together 40 pts if put in the right situation like Tyler Ennis this year. Dermott rn is capable of playing top4 but is stuck behind Gardiner and Reilly on LD. and I doubt babs will make him play his off side with either of the 2 mentioned above. If they don’t resign gardiner he’s a shoe in on the 2nd pair LD. Next season. I feel he’s a good fit alongside Weber on this young and upcoming habs team. Hopefully I didn’t ramble too much and again, let me know

I expect Dermott to take over the second pairing once Gardiner walks in free agency. Works well with his small cap hit for the time being. Might be able to make something work for Petry but may be with some of our forward prospects.
