        ok, there are a few things wrong with this. First the flames dont need to bring in backes or Russell in, second you cant trade Laddy Smid because of injuries, let alone get a 3rd round pick. The only option i see whit Smid is to hope he can come back from the injure or you buy him out along with mason Raymond. the their problem is that you are buying out Stajan, OK i know hes not a very good player offensively and not great defensively, but he is the heart and soul of this team. he and Gio are the leaders of this team. i agree his contract is a bit much (Yet another bad move by Feaster) but i think the whole locker room would take a huge hit if he wasn't there.

        I agree with hunter4321 about Russell... We have so many young talented D-Men down the pipe it's time to give one a real shot... As for Smid its time to buy him out and move on (unfortunately its very rare that an injured player will be bought out).... As for Backes... We need a first line right winger to play with Johnny & Mony.... There is currently NO ONE in the system that addresses this need.... As for Stajan I believe shifting him to left wing might help improve his usefulness on the ice... His contributions in the dressing room are noted and I agree (especially after firing Hartley) that his presence will be needed.

        WE need a goalie + top line right winger + a new coach.... If our management team can't pull it off then they should be sacked as well!!!!
