Calling Pettersson a generational talent is so wrong its hilarious. Hischier is the better player, dont get wrapped up in the recency bias.

If Pettersson was Canadian or American, I wouldn’t call him generational, but his numbers at every level and early success in the NHL indicate that he’ll be the best Swede of this generation. And also, the fact that he’s able to be so dominant when he’s super tiny and a average skater speaks to how incredible and unique his skill set is. Maybe he isn’t generational, but he’s a much better player than Hischier.

The only places he's better than Hischier is goal scoring (slightly) and sh%. Hischier is better everywhere and play against way harder comp. Pettersson's raw xGF is only in the 41st percentile and Hischier's is in the 99th percentile. Pettersson is just not better than Hischier.

He plays with Taylor Hall and Pettersson has outpointed him by 13. Petterson is a much more dangerous player. This is also Petterson’s 1st season in NA and it’s Hischier’s 3rd.

Hischier was better than Pettersson in his rookie year too. Notice how I used raw xGF so his numbers are not inflated by QoT. Using points to measure talent is a losing argument.

Sorry chief, Nico is better than EP40. Ep40 is being protected rn playing against less skilled opponents while Nico has been playing top minutes against oppositions top players. As mentioned b4, ur being wrapped up in the recency bias
