Description

Ottawa gets an immediate roster player in Fiala, 1st and 6th round picks, and the Preds 2nd best young Forward and Defensive prospects (behind Tolvanen and Fabbro) who are having impressive seasons in the AHL and both look to be nearing the jump to the NHL.

Carolina gets a 1st for Ferland who it's clear they have moved on from trying to resign with the trade for Nederiter and the extension for Teravainen. In addition a 4th rounder and somewhat of a project player who could eventually land a bottom 6 role in Baptiste for Williams as a rental who is on an expiring contract and feels likely would return to Carolina in the offseason for a one or two year deal to end his career.

Cap is prorated, so lets say the trades were made after game 41 the preds would only be responsible for 50% of the cap hit for the year. As of today preds have over 16 million of cap space available so these trades could be made now and still remain under the cap, that number increases to almost 30 million if the trades don't happen till the deadline.
