Spurgeon is fantastic, don't get me wrong...but if Fenton signs him to a 7 year deal...I will fire him myself! He will be 30 years old next season and at 5 foot nothing, a hundred and nothing...I just don't trust he can play at his current level for that long. If I ran the Wild, he would get a 5 year deal MAX...and I would push hard for a 4 year deal.

Not sure what his height or weight have to do with his abilities as he gets older but I think 5 is fair. I went 7Y to keep the AAV down because if I were spurge, I would want Suter money and it'd be tough to afford over 7M.

His size has everything to do with it. If big guys lose 1/2 a step, they are still big and have much larger play diameters. If/when Spurgeon loses 1/2 a step...he is done!
