I think it’s a great way to determine who’s really interested in the game, and who’s going to take a week to answer trade offers. The playoffs are like the main event, if you aren’t involved in the biggest event, why you in the game?

I agree with these thoughts too.
There's a few GMs who barely do anything throughout the course of an entire season.
They show up when it's time to create the team, draft and free agency....then almost nothing.

No one is saying this needs to be a 24/7 kind of commitment, but at least show some sense of being involved in the game.

It takes 5 minutes to do the voting. This is not an excuse. I also don’t believe we have any healthcare workers in the game...

One GM told me (s)he didn't have time for the game because of travel and COVID.

Fair points ... but i wouldn't say if one GM misses voting on one of the rounds and votes on the other three they should be fired. I also think if we're going to add this rule, it shouldn't start until the 2nd round this year, as it would be too sudden IMO to fire teams for not voting in round 1 when they only have 2-3 days after finding out they'd be fired if they didn't.

You gotta STOP defending people "in the game" (said loosely) for being lazy.
Basically the "rule change" as you call it would in fact be taking place at the end of round 1, since that is tomorrow.
Also don't forget that coming out of the playoff voting period we will be going into the draft stage, which means if someone new takes over a team they will need the proper time to set up the page, research for the draft etc.

This game is very simple in it's complexity. And participation is key not only for the teams GM but for the other 31 GMs in the game.

For sure, our scoring system did not necessarily vibe with the Flyers but that lineup is so stacked. All-stars galore. Round 2 versus Tampa should be interesting.

I'm not going to spoil my votes or anything but just based on memory (I'm not looking at the rosters right now) the Flyers have a very good chance of taking out the presidents' trophy winners. Should be really interesting.

Looking to move down from 20th overall. Additionally, I would be interested in moving up to a few spots down from 6th overall.

As a heads up, we will likely be making an adjustment to the scoring methodology and going with a slightly modified version of Dom L's Game Score model starting next season. His methodology can be found here. We have been using the portion of the game score that weights goals, A1, and A2 already, so we are essentially going to be simplifying the other parts (referring to goalies and advanced stats) of our current scoring to match his model. Our "modified game score" will add two factors: 0.05*hits for skaters and 0.25*GSAx for goalies. Just something to take into account. If you have specific questions shoot me a DM or tag me in this thread.

Edit: Empty-net situations are removed from the scoring (this was done in the past too)

Edit 2: I am open to the idea of discounting PP production as we have done in the past

we would like to start off by thanking the Vancouver Canucks for a hard fought series, and we wish them the best on their cup run to end the drought.
Although we stopped short of our final goal this year, we believe our team improved from the past season.

In regards to our contract situation, we are in talks currently with both Jost and Crouse's agents. We expect a deal to be finalized sometime over the summer.

As for our draft we are expecting to add a very good player with very good hockey IQ and a strong off-ice qualities.

In final, I would like to thank the fans who supported us throughout the year.

I would like to thank everyone involved for a very successful season one of GM Game v4, it's been a good year and a great playoffs for the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and we would like to thank a few people that helped out throughout the year. We'd like to thank the BOG (@flamesfan419, @Gronk, @hanson493, @matt59) for running the show, @A_K, @hanson493 and @phillyjabroni for running the stats through the year and thank you @A_K for running the playoffs simulation, @Banks and @Jarvis for putting up with our nonsense for 4 years and @flamesfan419 for becoming a MOD for the GM Game so Banks and Jarvis didn't have to deal with our nonsense as much, and @DontToewsMe19, @Turner33, @Bennett93, and @Gronk for a very hard fought playoffs that could have gone either way. Thank you everyone for a good 2019-2020 season, now for the offseason.
