Honestly I think it would be best for NJD to sign forwards and trade for a a defenseman, but what the hell.

AND I'm not buying out Callahan, he's only signed for 1 year so what's the point of buying him out and having dead cap next year.

Why are you giving up so much for Kapanen? It would only cost a 2020 2nd rounder for the offer sheet. Also a lot to give up for Trouba + solving all of Tampa's cap woes.

Ya that’s definitely not too much to Tampa, that’s not enough. Even with Callahan attaches Miller brings back more.

For Trouba, a lot of teams are going to want him, so I figured that they'd need a defenseman to replace him plus the first round pick sweetens the deal. I'm willing to give up Bratt because I want the devils to have more size in the lineup, that's why I traded for JT Miller. I didn't think the TBL trade was an overpay, but I could be wrong.

For the Kapanen trade, they could sign an offer sheet, but so can a lot of other teams so I figure just go out and get him. Plus, I just wanted to get rid of Mcleod lol
