Summer with EDM NJD CGY and an offer sheet

Created by: STLBlues17
Team: 2019-20 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 25, 2019
Published: Jun. 2, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Vegas has zero cap space and Gusev is one of the best players in the world, it would make a ton of sense. If Gusev is not an option, I’d look at offer sheeting or trading for Andreas Johnsson as well.

I'm a fan of going the Offer Sheet route. Something like 50% of 2nd round picks become solid NHL players. If that's all it takes to get a great player for a long term contract, you do it everyday of the week. I also like how you leave 5 million in cap space. With Schenn and Petro coming up, we should maintain flexibility. The LD is pretty weak but we could always make another deal for one.
