Dream Roster

Created by: bishopsdad
Team: 2019-20 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 4, 2019
Published: Jun. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It is, to put it mildly, unlikely that the Habs land both EK65 and MD65. If they do, they need to move a lot of salary out. I think if they want anyone to take Alzner without them retaining salary a second round pick might do it - a pick and a prospect is more likely. Shaw has some value - there are rumours teams were interested in him at the deadline two years running now. I suspect his trade value will never be higher, so why not? The trade with the Flyers gives them affordable depth at RHD for years and a pick - seems like a reasonable price for Ghost, but I am open to discussion on other prospects that are not on the active roster I created.

The 1st line - the 3D line - will score and score a lot, especially if JD stays uninjured and keep his head in the game. The Danault line will be a great shutdown line. The Kotkaniemi line will also be a threat and may end up being the 2nd line. And Ryan "Leaf Killer" Poehling's line will be a great fourth line for energy, killing penalties and will score. Thompson is kept to replace Poehling if he slows down, Weal for Suzuki (same reasoning). I think the blue line speaks for itself. I also think with SG and EK the Habs PP will be a lot more dangerous.

I've seen lots of MTL teams with EK65, did something come out about this?

News report today from an Ottawa area newspaper claiming that Karlsson hopes that the Sens and the Habs make competitive offers for his services b/c his wife is homesick for the Ottawa area. Apparently if he plays for either team he can get her back to where she wants to be. I think most people who are speculating are saying the Habs because EK going back to Melynk seems like a real stretch.

I guess a lot depends on how you define "competitive?"
