One more year of suckage, get the prospects feet wet. Overpay Filppula to mentor Puljujarvi. See if Sekera resurrects his career. Keep Chia for a year to see if he's legit a regular 20g scorer and to keep Holland's mantra of stability going. Pick in the top 10-15 next draft, then a bunch of salary and buyouts come off the books and some damage can be done onward.
Edmonton takes the retained hit since Lucic's salary is for one more year and Eriksson could still produce 10g and 25-30pts.
