Description
Okay. Lots to break down with this one. My assumption is that the Avs go with what rumors are saying, thus far, and are not targeting a D at 4th overall. Detroit wants Bowen Byram and trades up with the Avs, who end up with Kirby Dach at 6 (or one of the other 3 or 4 guys that could go in the couple slots after the 4th overall pick). Avs also get a 2nd and a 4th in this year's draft as Detroit really wanted their guy.

Avs use the picks here to make some big moves.

Yes, unlikely, but very interesting as it nabs them their 2C, and Artemi Panerin in UFA.

Though I do think Toffoli could be an interesting get for the Avs.

Would be one hell of an offseason.

Toffoli can easily get a 2nd or a 3rd and prospect

Toffoli is all over the place with his goals and points over his career. Some great numbers, also plenty under 40 point years (including this one). I'll grant a 3rd, and somebody might throw a 2nd at them, but probably more likely at a trade deadline type of thing where people overpay constantly. A third, I think, is fair for him, so replace a 3rd in that if you prefer.

Detroit sure ain't giving you their second just to jump two spots, check the draft pick value chart. I'd consider maybe the latest second round we have, but sure as hell not ours

It's not just about jumping up 2 spots. If that's all you're thinking about, then that's kinda silly. It's about guaranteeing their ability to draft the best defenseman in the draft, who would be the one they build their defense around. Now, honestly, I'd grant that Detroit could use any of the 3 seconds that they have, so substitute what you want out of that. But to just say "check the chart" is silly.
