I doubt Simmonds signs a 1 year deal because if his production doesn't pick up again he will make a lot less money next summer compared to what he will this year other than that this looks pretty good

Just thought this because Leafs have no cap space and need to get cheaper defensemen with some potential

- The leafs have plenty of left handed defenseman than they know what to do with.
- Morin has played a combined 24 over two seasons. I'm not entirely sure whats up there, but if he's going to play like 12 games for us that's not exactly helpful. I'd rather just give 9 to Sandin.
- Hagg managed to put up 20 points...but the vast majority of the underlying numbers, particularly his transitional stats, say he's barely an NHLer.

Overall I'm not confident that either of them would be able to play effectively on the 3rd pairing with the leafs, so I wouldn't be willing to offer any assets for them. If Toronto was interested in potential I'd lean towards Morin, but only after he passed through waivers, and only then for mid-late pick.
