If you get Tuch, the Nyquist signing is unnecessary. Change the lines to the following:

Hall-Hischier-Palmieri
Bratt-Hughes-Tuch
Zacha-Zajac-Boqvist
Wood-Boyle-Coleman

Agree with this, dont sign Nyquist, also have to add Mcleod or Boqvist to get that haul from Vegas I think.

If you have the opportunity to sign a player like Nyquist at a decent term and decent AAV, you do it. Just because 1 middle six RW was acquired that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep trying to improve the team.



I would be ok with replacing the 2020 3rd round pick with McLeod.

You dont sign Nyquist because Hall, Nico, Blackwood, Bratt, Vatanen (not too much) will all need significant raises and adding a player nearing 30 to almost 6 mill is going to put the Devils at the Ceiling in hot second.

If you look at the salary cap number, it actually wouldn't at all.

I don't think Vegas really has a reason to trade Tuch, he's well worth his cap hit – he's the guy you move other people for in order to keep.

That said, that return doesn't get you Miller AND Tuch – those are the best 2 players in the entire trade.
