doesnt have a contract this late in the offseason, hes not gonna get some big pay day my friend

I can guarantee he's being offered atleast 4.5 a year. He's probably holding out for more term. But he's not going to play on a fringe team for a year at a discount.

There's better teams that would give him a 1 or 2 year deal at 4 million per year.

4 years 4 AAV to a team trending upwards. 1 year at 3.5 AAV was a total pipe dream man. Canes went to the conference finals last year and have made some solid moves again this year.

Oilers can trade for Justin Faulk since the Canes don't need him now. He can be your guy at 5 million for 1 season lol.

if he wants stability you're right, if he wanted a chance to get the same term at 6M AAV he wouldve signed on a team where hed get 1PP time on a 1yr deal

Ya maybe if the Oilers offered him like 5.5-6AAV for 1 year he would have maybe been interested. You had him at 3.5 AAV for 1 year lol. A 29 year old with some back issues isn't set on signing a prove it deal, with a struggling team.
