I'd assume Backstrom gets a bit of a raise on a 4ish year deal in the offseason...tough to fit that in, along with raises to Siegenthaler and (probably) Stephenson.

Please no On Burns. He’s great and all but he’s terrible defensively. Terrible might have been extreme. He’s not exactly what we need. I would rather get a guy like dumo or pesce. In a perfect world Seth Jones ha. Burns is great but we have Carlson and he looks like he could surpass burns in offensive ability and he’s better defensively.

Burns is elite I just don’t want him. Felt like I needed to say that before people try to kill me.

Also don’t sleep on Mc Michael. Trading him could potentially be Forsberg bad

No way in hell would I ever do this if I was GMBM. Terrible trade for the Caps. Giving up our best young forward, who is going to score 30 goals this year, along with our best forward prospect, along with a 1st and 2nd for a ****ty goalie and an old past his prime defenseman. Are you kidding?

Yeah. Burns is awesome, but so is Holtby. Each will be very expensive next year, but with Holtby at least there's still an option. They're a one for one. Jones for Gudas balances positions. Goodrow for Panik balances cap, if there's a little retention on Jones. Burns does have a Karlsson-like trade value but so does Holtby, and Karlsson didn't fetch anything close to Vrana, McMichael, Djoos, 1st, 2nd.
