Yes, John Moore is a 2nd - 3rd dpair guy who is stuck behind Krug, Chara, Griz, and at this point Lauzon only because he plays a big bad bruins brand of hockey.

You can look at his stats from his first year with Boston when he didnt share that 3rd dpair time with anyone (and again, he was only on the 3rd pair because of Chara and Krug)

If the Sabres wanna either change that 4th or a 3rd and the bruins throw in a 6th, the trade can be: Moore, Celharik, and a 6th for a 3rd. Buffalo rounds out their defense with a solid player (who can rebound after getting screwed by crazy depth, NOT poor play), and this trade is done (and they get a 6th too, so even more fair)

Moore isn't on 3rd pair only because of Krug and Chara. That's where's he okay at. Grzelcyk is on 3rd pair because of that. Grzelcyk can play in top4. Moore can but he will be average or bad if he does.

He isn't 7th D for nothing. You should have better options if you're a good/elite team.

Don't know what you see that makes you think he's a 2nd pair D.

In Jersey he was a 20 Point Player each year and in his first year with the bruins he put up 13 points in 61 games, but plays solid defense and helps to create goals (even when not in the form of an assist (he is third in created goals on the bruins (behind Krug and Griz) last year.

I dont think the bruins need him, but to say he is a "7th dman, and not worth 2.75" is unfortunately not true. Bruins dont need him, but that doesnt mean he is a bad contract.

His offensive game is " good ", let's say.

But no, he doesn't play " solid defense ". Best-case (for a good team), he is your 6th D. And yes $2,75M is a lot for an average 3rd pair D.

It is a bad contract. Who signs a 3rd pair D to a FIVE-year contract? And at that price, considering the Bruins need that cap space... It's not looking a disaster yet but when the Bruins will need to pay McAvoy, Carlo, Kase, Grzelcyk, etc., having a guy like Moore at $2,75M will be a problem. And it's not like he's drawing much interest or that he will get better...

And not the first time (and I'm not the only one) telling you he isn't good or a 2nd pair D or his contract is problematic... Same for Ritchie. You're way too easy on those guys. Wonder what you think about guys like Johnson, Gudbranson, Ceci, etc. It's okay to say that x player is bad

Gudbranson sucks, Johnson sucks. They are given the opportunity to succeed and fail. I havent seen Ceci enough.
Ritchie SUCKS! I said that already. but that DOESNT mean that they let him walk when they can sign him to a two-way deal for cheap (thats obvious)
And Moore did NOT get the chance to succeed, so NO! One can NOT say he sucks.

Moore played up in the lineup and even top pair. Once again, he was only average, thanks to guy playing next to him so he didn't look bad.

He is a 2nd pair guy, as he was in New Jersey and his First season with the Bruins. He just got stuck behind Chara, Krug, and Griz

He used to be a 3rd pairing guy who could play on the 2nd pair and now he got worse and is a 3rd pairing guy who gets made into the 7th D man on deep teams. He would be a 7th D man in Toronto and they aren't exactly known for their stellar defence.

The contract he signed is money for a low end 2nd pairing D man but he's really a 3rd pairing guy. I'd take Holl or Mayfield over Moore any day. They are signed for much less than what Moore is plus they play the right side.

I'd rather Scandella for 0.5M more and that wasn't exactly a discount contract.

If the Bruins retain $750,000 maybe some team takes a chance on a bounce back year.

Bruins dont need to retain anything. If bufallo doesnt want him we dont care. There is 100% a team that will give up a 6th or 7th for him (Even though he is worth a 4th or 5th) to take a chance on him. So fine we dont do the trade with Buf or Tor, i dont care lol
