Description
Personally, I do not see a RHD available in a trade involving Dermott without having to had major additional assets. So why not move him for another LHD who can and has played the right side. Jonas Siegenthaler averaged around 3 minutes of PK time per game for the 6th ranked PK league wide last season (still this season I guess). Siegenthaler also starts 45% of his zone starts in the defensive zone. Siegenthaler also ranked very highly among Captials defenders in regards to shot share and supression.

Therefore, Siegenthaler could be the defensive presence Rielly needs as a partner. Essentially, he is a much much better version of Ron Hainsey.

Not giving up that early of a 2nd for Johnsson. Maybe Colorado's.

Not sure how either of these trades are fair. You did a good job outlining Sienganthaler's strengths and that he would be a nice top line pairing on defense. Then turn around and send Washington nothing valuable to get him. There is 0 incentive for Washington to make this trade. And an under sized, bottom line winger with a 3.4 million AAV coming off a serious injury who is a cap dump is not going to come close to returning you a 2nd round pick under the current NHL economic conditions.
