Description

Let next season's cap troubles with Laine, Copp, Lowry and Pionk all due new deals be an issue for next offseason. Spend to the cap this year and push hard when other teams will be finding ways to stay under the flat cap this year. Byfuglien, Little, Kulikov and Perreault free up $20M in spending $$$. Puljujarvi will find his game in an historically Finnish friendly environment. Reunited with countrymen Laine and Haula, I can see them putting up solid numbers. Bottom 6 is as strong as the Jets 2.0 have rostered. All 12 forwards have a role in special teams and they stop sending Scheif and Wheels to block shots on the PK.

Resigning DeMelo and bringing in Edmundson buy the strong core of Jets prospects time to mature their game. Heinola and Samberg will both battle for top 4 positions soon.

Helly gets 70+ starts and Berdin earns the back-up spot.
