Personally I’m a big fan of Halak. If I thought the Hawks were a bubble/playoff team then I would do this but as it stands I don’t know if this is a good move for the team and their direction.

That being said, if I thought this was a bubble/playoff team I would’ve kept Crawford.

I mean any team could do the deal, figured hawks could use something in net

You’re not wrong lol. But they want to give their young AHL goalies some experience and see if they can take the next step. Can’t blame em but there will be growing pains.

I see no reason why the Bruins would trade Halak, great backup that takes a lot of the workload off Rask's back. He also took a team friendly deal when everyone thought he'd be gone in free agency. The organization also showed they wanted to stick with Halak since they let Lagace walk.
If we were to trade Halak it would likely be for some extra help on the offense. But even if we did go through with that you would give Rask little rest, as our in house option, Vladar, clearly needs another season to develop in Providence.

Sure why not replace Halak by Howard and lose 7-10 games more than we should
If you want cap space, move Moore, Ritchie, Wagner idk even waive Miller instead than trading a top5 backup and replacing him by the worst G of the past season

I get what you're saying, just went with what I figured was the mist guaranteed option to get money off the books. To be fair with Howard though, hes been in a brutal Detroit situation last few years, while not halak level I think he could rebound in Boston.
