Description

The Blueprint I had in mind for this trade was the Pacioretty deal, even tho patches still had 1 year left before turning UFA...

At the time of the trades;

Suzuki >>> Eetu (both were young C prospects, altho Suzuki being the much higher rated)
Connolly <<< Tatar (both were guys coming off down years, Tatar being more offensive minded)
2nd = 2nd (the extra loss of a 4th rounder for MTL wld be due to the cap retention on Connolly's contract as VGK only retained 500k of Tatar's salary in that trade)

The lines are just what I would want to see from this group, not necessarily the best combos/trios.

Luo has been good for us so far. Idk If we want to trade him, I think we are hoping that he can develop into a high caliber player. He has been pretty good in both zones, effective on PK... It's not a bad offer though, I'll give you that

I'm talking THIS current season my good man. The whole idea behind this trade is to do it before the deadline, and with Connolly being a healthy scratch/playing on FLA's 4th line when he DOES play, I'd consider that on "off year" so far yes.

Just take a second to read what I'm writing before responding why don't you..?

I said this deal wld done *at the deadline*, which wld be more than 5 games and almost half the year wld be done. So the thought process is (and yes I understand he may very well start playing better), that if he continues playing the way he has and not getting much more opportunity away from the 4th line, he will have had a down year by his previous standards.

Needless to say, are we actually arguing about Brett f'in Connolly rn? Lmao
