Description
Considering this draft class is a "weak class" this could mean that who ever gets the 1st overall pick might want to trade it and get some value. In the trade airzona get the rights to Sam Bennet, Sam is a solid player but isn't getting great ice time playing on the 3rd line in Calgary where he could play 1st line in airzona. As well as Sam Bennet airzona gets a mid first round pick.

If they view it to be a "weak draft class" (which it very well might be) isn't that more incentive not to make this deal because that devalues pick 16 way more than it devalues Nolan Patrick.

They also get Sam Bennett. If anything, this favors the yotes who get a potential 1c and a first rounder and give away a projected 2C.. Also, what if yotes don't come last?

Bad trade for the Flames, IMO Bennett will be just as good as Patrick if not slightly better. I'd definitely hang on to him.

Where did you find Kevin Shattenkirk? I tried to do one of my own and couldn't find him

He did a 2017/2018 roster (where Shattenkirk is a ufa)

Shattenkirk wants to play on the Eastern Seaboard so Calgary isn't happening.
