Not true. On a max term contract, I can see their caphits being more similar but never equal. Petey is the more valuable piece and will have a higher caphit

OP signed them both to 7 year deals. That's a little odd. Why not 8? Also, Cale Makar will be getting mega bucks - more than $7 million obviously. So Hughes will point to Makar's contract.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think Makar is the better player and his contract can be a comparable but not a match. For example, if its a 3yr bridge CM gets something like 7m, then QH gets like 6m. On a long term you gotta expect CM to get somewhere around 9/10 and then hughes around 8/9
