If Holland took that deal he should be fired on the spot

Welcome to CapFriendly! Don’t take the comments personally.

Kerfoot at best is worth probably around a 3rd round pick to most teams. Skinner likely isn’t available for the Oilers as he’s their most ready goalie, and perhaps the best they have. Kahun for Engvall is closer to a 1 for 1, although the edge might be towards to Kahun as he’s the better player IMO and has a lower cap hit too

Thanks! I figured I'd go off the Kapanen trade last year+ because of added Engvall. Kerfoot (imo) showed up in the playoffs and I think he'd be a good fit in Edmonton. Interchange Skinner with another prospect, I'm, not too knowledgeable about the Oilers minor-league system. If you'd like to propose a fairer trade in your opinion, shoot one my way!

Just curious here, what would you change to make it in your eyes a fair trade?

i still don't get people's obsession with getting rid of engvall and kerfoot. those 2 with mikeyev were a very good 3rd line. why not focus on the first line that scored 2 goals in 7 games instead of blowing up a good 3rd line and still having the same problems up top?

Kerfoot is gone either in the expansion draft or preferably traded before that to get some sort of value. Engvall, well, we need a change and more actual offense and he makes over a mil soooooo

we need a change in the top 6, not the bottom. good point on kerfoot, maybe i'm trading him to see if i can get a draft pick off of somebody.

you also replaced 1.25 mil engvall with 3.5 mil coleman, sooooooo.....

That's what Coleman is for, he can easily slot into the top 6 but he excels on the third line. Like Hyman per se.

Well the problem for me is asking for a first round pick. If I’m giving you a 1st I need something worth it in return. Kerfoot is the best player in that trade without question but is he worth a 1st? Not to me. Engvall doesn’t do much for me either. I’m not entirely sure what his purpose is. If you wanted to make it Kerfoot for a 2nd and a prospect I’d take that deal as long as it’s not a major prospect

I think you also have to take into account team fit. I was going off the Kapanen trade, because Kapanen would clearly be a good fit in PIT, and I think so would Kerfoot in EDM.
