Frederic re-signing has no affect on DeBrusk days in Boston.

I have Frederic being protected over Ritchie. Ritchie is coming off his best career P/GP which put him at a pace of roughly 37 points. Started out great and reverted back to old Ritchie as the season went on, eventually being a guy that should have been scratched in the playoffs. He's got a $2 million QO and if DeBrusk is here he needs to play LW. That means Ritchie needs to go to 4LW and at that point Freddy can play Ritchies role for a fraction of the price.

Ritchie may also be enticing enough to SEA to not take Lauzon or one of Boston's other d-men.

SEA is going to take a defencemen like clifton, lauzon or zboril

Good signing hope to see him play more in the Nhl since he's young and seemed pretty good last year too

Plus i don't see him protected in the expansion draft or taken either i think SEA will more likely take a D like Clifton Lauzon or Zboril
