Initial Creation Date: Feb. 4, 2017
Published: Feb. 4, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
PLEASE NOTE: In no way am I saying Bennett is a bust... I just think that there's no spot for him on the flames.. LW or C. He is a high calibre player and therefore won't be suited for his current 3rd c position.

You think that's all Calgary could get for Bennet?

If they were to trade him AS OF NOW then yes. Keep in mind, the Flames are getting two good players that are crucial to the Flames success AND are on the right side of 30 with two years left on their very cheap contracts..

Flamed.... This is tempting... With Back's recent play he will be worth re-signing and to do this and try to keep Bennett could be difficult due to the cap... If we could get a draft pick then this might be easier to swallow as Bennett is Calgary's lowest draft pick ever...

I'd say try Bennett on LW but with JH and Tkachuk both on the LW there is no room for him... I did hear someone say that Tkachuk played some RW in Junior... If he could be moved to RW from LW that would fill the Flames need for a #1 RW - who cares he is left handed...

I've watched Tkachuk play a bunch down here in London... And yes I can confirm that he played RW.. BUT, would you split up the 3M line? Benny did play well with Fro and backs last year, but who knows how that'll go this year? You also have to remember that players like Mangipane and Klimchuk are really pushing for a spot in the lineup, and they are much more suited for that 3rd line role. So why not trade Bennett for players that Calgary actually requires?
