I started the franchise mode in June of 2021 so there was an expansion draft, entry draft, contracts, and FA. Whoever I had to resign for 2020 I put in a trade so I could fix their contracts (which it was up to date so the contracts were fine). Obviously Pettersson was still in his entry level deal so that's why I signed him to 925,000 for 1 year, that goes with Lind, hughes, juolevi, etc, etc. I basically signed them to the contracts they had for 2020-21 season. There were people signed last year for 700,000 but that's not the league minimum this year so I had to do 750,000. I was able to sign Pettersson to a 7,500,000 deal for 5 years starting next year and Hughes at 5,500,000 for 8 years starting next year as well.
