Expansion draft proposition: If Seattle takes Brett Kulak in expansion draft, Montreal then also gives Drouin.
(Drouin obviously can't play in the Mtl pressure anymore)

This way Montreal gets to keep Jake Allen and the big 4 on defense. Kulak can either be flipped by Seattle this off-season or they can have him slot on the left of the third pair and trade him at the deadline as his contract will be expiring.

Drouin can easily slot on the left wing of Seattle's second line.

I know it seems like much, but it's gotta hurt a little or else it's probably not a deal that Seattle even considers.

Mtl in exchange gains 7.35M in worry free cap space (doesn't have to worry about leaving Drouin on LTIR or losing Kulak to waivers) and Mtl gets closer to keeping the cup run team intact.

Not a bad idea at all. The problem is that nobody actually knows what Drouin’s situation is so it’s hard to say whether he wants out of Montreal or not..

If he wants a fresh start then this is a great idea

Well there's still alot we don't know about Drouin (and we'll probably never really know)
but Bergevin mentioned in his press conference 4 days ago: "I can't really share information about Drouin, but the latest news I got is he is doing very well (tres bien)."
