If Avs get #1 pick should they trade it?

Created by: Watty1
Team: 2017-18 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 18, 2017
Published: Feb. 18, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
*If Colorado gets the #1 pick should they trade down? The reason being that they don't need another center, but trading with AZ, Van, Carolina etc. they will probably take centers, leaving Timothy Liljegren available in the top 5.
Needs to be a team in transition obviously.

Also, all of these moves happening is pretty unrealistic, but I think this could model what the team looks like in the next 1-2 years.

Notes:

*Halak/Beauchemin deal only makes sense if Colorado believes Pickard is the guy going forward.

*Jost leaves UND after freshman season for a top 9 role on the team.

*Colorado rebuilds defence first, looks at cheap UFA's up front & in goal to fill temporary holes.

No way you trade it. Patrick/Hischier are great prospects.

Interesting idea with that Vancouver trade but I don't think it makes sense for Vancouver if the cost for trading up is Tanev

We're not gonna win with him; it's not his fault, but he is our best trade chip.

Tanev is worth a mid 1st round pick on his own. Van wont trade him just to move up ? 2 to 4 spots???
