right wing is top 5 in the league

That top 6 gets them easily into the playoffs and then their opponent's top defensive players shut them down. That bottom 6 can't score very many goals and it is another first round exit, second round at best.

Now do LW... I like RW, I like the Defense to be honest, goaltending should be good (if healthy), and C is good (if healthy). If anything happens to Matthews or Tavares it hurts big time. LW needs 2 out of 4 to take massive steps forward.

This is exactly how I see it. Without Tavares, Line 2 still went off in the playoffs. Line 1 could not score goals despite getting lots of chances, and the bottom 6 just did not contribute. this bottom 6 still looks like it wont contribute, so again if either top line gets stopped its an exit.
