Description

Oilers take a big gamble on Bishop returning to form after his surgery. His contract can't be buried in the minors if he plays poorly because of his NMC but if he puts up .920sv% the Oilers have a solid tandem in net without giving up too many assets.

The defense could still use work but the Oilers are tight to the cap.

He came off major surgery and can't be buried if he doesn't play well. There's a lot of risk there. Dallas also already has 2 solid goalies and need cap space.

There was talk of Bishop being bought out if he didn't waive his NMC before the expansion draft so Dallas clearly perfers Khudobin as they should.

If Dallas wants to keep Bishop I'd give a 2nd for Khudobin. They gotta move one of them to stay cap compliant unless they find a bunch of LTIR money somewhere.
