Too many 3rd line forwards. Carrier is basically Foligno. Girgensons isn't working out and teams could be interested in him as a guy in need of a change of scenery. Turn them into picks. At the very least you make those selections, but you could use the picks in other trades. I would prefer to get rid of Moulson and Ennis instead but I don't think that is the right move. Maybe next off season you could look at buying their contracts out. No team will be looking to take them on in a trade and not looking to pay teams with picks to take their contracts. Not yet. Not when we don't need their money until next off season. Also important to point out that our prospect pool is not very deep. You look at team like TOR, BOS, MIN and more who have depth. Sabres have a lot of guys who look to be possible 3rd liners. Nylander is the one who will most likely be a top line forward barring a fall off. Nobody else is really close to being that for sure top forward. Sabres don't have a ton of depth, and getting picks for guys who are somewhat expendable could be a good move. More picks mean more chance of finding top guys, whether it is through the draft or through trade.
