Literally just get him off the team and continue on to make the d core significantly worse…. Idk what to even say about the horrible treatment Barrie receives all he’s done is come here by choice led all d in points then sign a much cheaper extension then would have gotten on open market. Keep running quality out of town then blame gm for making dumb trades.

Do you watch the games? Barrie is an adventure in his own zone, takes poorly timed shots, the play dies on his stick in the offensive zone. Woodcraft sees it too by playing Barrie consistently as the 6/7 d man. Keep running quality out of town? Watch a game.

I have watched nearly every game since the cup run and will say Barrie is by far the best puck moving d the team has had. Under Woodcroft his game has shown improvements.

Does it matter how much he helps out offensively (which he doesn’t cause he struggles to even get point shots through) if he is always out of position, can’t stay structured in his own zone and has directly led to many short handed chances against which in turn has actually led to short handed goals against. And why do you think he’s been better under woodcroft? Cause woodcroft has designated him as the 6/7 d man on this team. He can’t handle top pairing minutes and woodcroft knows it. Terrible waste of money to have on your third pair. Holland should have kept Bear and let Barrie walk. But instead cause he needs to be in a retirement home he just looks at points as the only objectable quality to Barrie and refuses to look at advanced stats which would have showed that he should have RAN from Keith and Barrie. But instead we are stuck with a bottom 5 dcore in the league and terrible goaltending. And because Holland is too stubborn and stupid to admit he was wrong he’s gonna sit on it. Year 7 of this team having McDavid and we are STILL a bubble playoff team. Unacceptable.
