This team misses or is a first round exit the oilers need a contending team Mcdavid deserves it and will not contend in the playoffs with that d core or goaltending

Yeah I saw both inexperienced goalies sure Hussos finally playing good but how long does it last? And how much is his “good” season is because he’s on a good defensive team?

Skinner has done a great job in the NHL so far. He'll be better next season for sure. He's 6-6-0 with .913 sv%

Husso is 15-4-3 with a .928 sv%.

Blues defense:

Scandella - Parayko
Krug - Faulk
Mikkola - Bortuzzo

Does that look like a great d-core to you?

I’m sorry to tell you 6-6 with a .913 is not a great job by any standard “solid” sure I can see a solid season so far but that’s it, and I said a good defensive team not d core their forwards are so good two ways not to mention their d core is still good but a lot better than the oilers right now and better than your projected d core for next season

All of Skinner losses are because of Dave Tippett and how he teaches people to defend. Under woodcroft, he played on game and that was a shutout.

I’d love to see Skinner actually do good Oilers need goaltending but nothing he has done has proved he’s ready to take the next step and become a legit starter or even a capable back up, if he stays consistent with this play sure he can be a solid back up but he’s gotta do a lot better if he wants to be a starter

I'd say he hasn't been given the chance to prove himself. Oilers should be starting him today. If he stays at .913 sv % he is above league average (.908) which is all this team needs to be successful. Every1 craps on this team but they proved last year in the layoffs D and goalies were the issue. So if they get the better goaltending (league average) they are fine.

Sure they are fine for maybe a first round exit but their team isn’t close to competing in the playoffs yet
