Giroux is getting around 7. Could be as low as 5 if he takes a discount to win a cup, could be as high as 7.5. tavares is comprable to 4-6 mil more expensive. There is no excuse for that

Except you know signing a 27-28 year old for 7x11 vs a 34 year old

Not arguing that. I agreed with that multiple times.

That doesn't make him negative value. It discounts his value by 2 to 3 mil maybe

it makes a player who has been declining over the past 5 years and making well above their market value have negative value when the team has no leverage.

Look at Tyler Johnson. He is making 20-25% above his market value, a bit less than Tavares. he has positive value to every team. But he had negative value in a trade from Tampa BECAUSE they had no leverage. Put him on Arizona while they are sellers at a TDL and he is getting back a 2nd and B prospect/young roster player. (idc about 2021-22 with CHI, he was hurt all year). Nobody wants to help Toronto out, so they will be forced to retain 2-3+ mil or pay to move him. If you retain 3 mil, youre getting back some good value

And I said Arizona because why not. Could be said for CHI, too

Except I showed you he hasn't declined, he's been more stable than players you're tossing out.

Taking a ppg player off the leafs isn't helping them out btw. That's not even a remotely close comparison to Tyler Johnson tossing up 30 points playing 3rd line minutes making 5mil

Ok so the leafs will stay mediocre? cool.

And he has declined lmao. He was paid to be a star player which he has not been. He has also completely outproduced his expected metrics and has gotten lucky.

Its obvious that bias is ruining this for you so i dont care to argue. have fun continuing to be a biased-leafs fan who is stuck in round 1

As opposed to a biased isles fan..

He was paid be a ppg player and that's exactly what he's done his entire career, even on the isles. Expecting him to turn into some 100 to 120 point player out of nowhere wasnt the expectation
