No way Johnny Gaudreau signs that with Philly, He's looking at $10,000,000 x 8 years to stay with Calgary he's not taking less from Philly. You need to add an additional $2,000,000 on top.

He’s from Philly and would be willing to take a hometown discount. He’s practiced in a Flyers jersey, he wants to be here

Yeah we shall see, But it's doubtful he signs for that deal in Philly, They're still a little bit away from making any serious noise here.

I agree but if a local guy wants to come home and try to turn his childhood team around he will most likely take a pay cut. Honestly I love him but I’d rather the team follow their current path and rebuild but ownership will never let the team rebuild

Yeah Flyer ownership is in denial, This team is better off tearing it down and starting fresh. They're nowhere near building a competitive team anytime soon.

Exactly I love Gaudreau but I’d rather them shoot for Bedard or Michkov

You do realize that picture was photoshopped right…. Not to mention he wants to win and the flyers are in no place to win any time soon so why would he ever take a pay cut to play for a horrible team regardless of being a hometown player. Give your head a shake if you think he’d ever consider a 7X9.5

Gaudreau would regularly be worth like 10-10.5 it’s really not surprising for someone to take a 500k-1m discount for their hometown team. Look at Giordano, he signed for 800k when he clearly is worth more because he wanted to win with his hometown team

Terrible comparison Johnny is almost 10 years younger then Gio. He’s fallen far from where he was in his Norris year. He’s on his final contract of his career. Johnny was already on a friendly contract that he outgrew a year of two into it. He’s going to want his fair value and again it’s not going to be a bottom of the barrel flyers who are about to majorly rebuild

It’s not just the fact that Gio is older it’s the fact that he took a hometown discount. Even at his age he still could’ve made like 3m a year but he wanted less so the Leafs could have more cap. Idk how you are an expert on Gaudreau’s life and know that he won’t take a team friendly deal. With him at the helm who says the Flyers can’t turn it around
