Description

I know this is not going to work, but I wanted to see what it might look like. Both for the trade and the Kadri signing. The idea was that there would be more money for a short term deal, bring him in as a mercenary and save cap space for 23-24 for new deals such as Boldy. The Kadri signing is a stretch, but it could be substituted for a different expensive top center on a short term deal, such as Malkin or something in this experiment.

Even if we threw in #24 overall I don’t know if NJ would consider. I think the cost to get #2 overall is higher the value of the players we could get at that spot. I would love to get Holtz, but I don’t think #2 should be a target.

Can't see the Devils being interested in 2 pending UFAs at that price.

If you can't afford Kevin Fiala, then you can't afford Nazem Kadri and he's not signing for no one year deal.

That is why I had said it was unlikely and only an experiment. Basically just wanted to fill in for a short term 1C

Can't see NJ doing that trade. Holtz would be a target for the Fiala trade though. Should all come to a head in a couple weeks
