Not sure why the Hawks would trade Kane to inherit Nylander. That doesn’t make a ton of sense

Hawks have no use for Nylander, none. Same for kerfoot.

Check yourself; not saying this trade makes sense or vest gawks can do but if you think the hawks won’t be taking salary back in a Kane or Toews trade - you’re dreaming. Absolutely no team (that could benefit from Kane or Toews) can absorb $5.25M without sending $ back. Value is prospects, picks + potential to flip players at tdl.

Or just keep Kane Domi and the second and flip for prospects at the tdl. I can see how this works for Toronto but not so much for Chicago. You are basically offering a wash of late first for early second. A 3rd and wait for it 2025 3rd. Oh yeah, we get to swallow another year of Nylander. Nope. Not for a rebuilding team.

Like I said, I’m not in favour of this trade for leafs but…in theory you could flip Nylander @ deadline - he’d be a valuable guy for playoff team
