Rangers would be 2 M over the cap with that move, so there is the first no reason for NYR.

Second reason is taking on a several years 5 + contract will f-up the contracts signings of Lafrenière, Miller so besides Schneider and Kakko, those two would this trade cost NYR as well.

Now if you would be the GM of NYR would you do that trade, given all that it would cost you?
