This is a line combo that could work for the start of the year

It seems like the Canucks want to be a playoff team this year so imma grade their roster by positions

Forwards : A-/B+
Got a great group of forwards with high potential like EP40, Podkolzin, Kuzmenko, etc. and Miller coming off a 99 pt season. Good group but needs more consistent scoring this year

Defence: C+
Hughes is great, OEL had a decent year but bad contract, and Rathbone has potential, but the right side of this group is horrific; even worse when Myers comes back

Goalies: A
Demko was probably our best player last year along with Miller and one of the best goalies in the NHL, Martin had an impressive short stint with the team and will roll as backup this year. I dont think the Canucks will have to worry about goaltending much this year

Overall: B+
The Canucks have a decent group that can definitely make a run in the Pacific, but if they want to be a threatening team this year, they have to upgrade the right handed players on the backend. It has been an ongoing problem for the Canucks in the last couple of years and would help our goalie not get 49 shots against every game and create opportunities for us to score as well. The Canucks are not in a good position with Salary Cap Room but I believe they have assets to use and potential targets to inquire for this season. There is definitely a lot of optimism for this team heading into this season and I believe that they are close to being a playoff contender
