Krug-Landy, thoughts?

Description
Ok, here me out on this one. I do like Krug, but i feel he has always played his best 5x5 hockey when he is on a lower d-pair. To pay him 5.25 mill to be a good offensive d-man, not on the top unit doesn't help the cap situation. He is also what the Avs are looking for in a young, puck moving, NHL defenseman. Along with Spooner, who the Avs could view as a second line center, who just needs a change of scenery.
Both Krug and Spooner are also very effective on the power play. Morrow/Subban are not losses for the B's, but could help the Avs as young players with potential (not sure what the league thinks of Subban at this point).

I would hate to give up on Vatrano as well, but he could be added to sweeten the deal, especially with the perception that Bjork/Debrusk are ready for serious ice time.

Should Vegas take Grubbauer, i would gauge the Caps interest in Dobby as well.

This is really bad. Another failed ACGM. You just crippled the defense with this move and have no back up plan.

No to trading any of the NHL defenseman we have for landeskog.

I'd hardly say i "crippled" them. If Killer plays close to what he did late last year, and with Lauzon, O'Gara, around the corner, i'd say its a down year followed by some serious promise.

You cripple them offensively and transition wise. Krug is such an undervalued and important part of the back-end. Take him away and the defense is ugly. We just saw it in the playoffs. It's not wise to move him for a winger, especially Landeskog. He outproduced him this season. Krug was in the top 10 for points for defenseman this past year, IDK why but without looking 6th ranked sounds familiar for him, but not 100% where. I know he was top 10 though.

I'm just not about Landeskog for a big price. He's declined every year, production wise, has never hit 30 goals....He's hit 25+ once, his 2nd year, and even if Colorado fans think otherwise, he shouldn't bring them a huge haul. The most I'd give up for Landeskog would be:

Zboril + Vatrano + 1st 2017..... They get a protected LWer with upside, a defenseman with top 2 potential (more realistic is top 4) and the 18th overall this season. MAYBE I throw in a small piece as well, but we're talking a Ryan Fitzgerald, or a later pick in 2018.
